Compton, infamous for gang violence, sidewalk assassinations and drive-by shootings, is, according to the FBI, the number one city in the United States for rape, robbery, assault and murder. Its homicide rate is a staggering eight times higher than the national average. In the one city, more than 50 street gangs vie for control of a massive crack cocaine and methamphetamine market.
